Doug Meye - Church Resource Minister
Rev. Doug Meye, who served in our organization several years ago as a part-time Church Resource Minister will be, once again, joining the staff of Transformation Ministries in mid-August. As Church Resource Minister, he'll be focusing on overseeing our peer pastors ministry and taking it to the next level. Doug was born in Oakland, CA, and spent the early years of his life in Southern California, and Switzerland. At the age of nine, his family moved to Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a western Chicago suburb. Believing that God had called him into the ministry of the Gospel, he attended Wheaton College, and earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies. Later Doug enrolled as a student at Fuller Seminary where he met his wife, Pat, and together they graduated in 1980. Prior to his interim work at First Baptist Church of Ventura, the Meyes answered God's call to build a new church plant in Las Vegas, Nevada, which turned into his pastoring many different churches: new church, single-cell church, the 200-400 church, the church in building mode, the multi-staff church of 800+, and the plateaued church. Doug will tell you that he's experienced the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat!
Rev. Meye recently resumed his Doctor of Ministry work at Fuller Seminary, and hopes to complete his coursework this summer. His project will be in the area of mentoring, with a focus on the nature of spiritual authority. The Meyes have two children, David (19) and Kristin (17), and currently reside in Henderson, Nevada.
